Amazon Linux 2 vs Amazon Linux 2023 (10 key differences we need to know to avoid errors.)
Important announcement for AWS cloud users: If the commands you used in the User Data or Cloudformation/Terraform templates that you have run before, are giving an error and are not working now. Or, if some commands (especially the install commands) you give from the command line do not work when we connect to the instance. This is probably due to Amazon using the new Linux Amazon Machine Images (AMI), Amazon Linux 2023 (AL2023) as the operating system for Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instances, by default after March 15, 2023.
This means that from this date on, when you launch an instance on Amazon EC2, the Amazon Linux 2 (AL2) AMI will not be installed by default, instead the new Linux AMI, Amazon Linux 2023 (AL2023) will be installed by default.
